"The Ten Commandments" Wed, Apr 1st

I'll be running "The Ten Commandments" on Wednesday, April 1st at the Heights Theater in Columbia Heights, MN. The doors open at 6:30 PM and the film starts at 7:00.

Back in 2009 I did the same thing, rented out The Heights for a showing of "Ben-Hur". Before the film I announced that I had written my screenplay and desired to ask Will Smith to consider the role of Moses. Now, 6 years later, I will do the same thing, only this time showing the film I wanted originally.

Cecil B Demil's classic starring Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner is recognized as one of the greatest epic films of all time. It dramatizes the biblical story of the life of Moses, an adopted Egyptian prince who becomes the deliverer of his real brethren, the enslaved Hebrews, and therefore leads the Exodus to Mount Sinai, where he receives, from God, the Ten Commandments. This is an inspirational film for the whole family.

Letter to Will Smith

I sent this letter to Will Smith during Christmas break. It will be hard to read unless you save it and blow it up. Here is what the letter says..

Dear Mr. Smith,

I'm renting out the Heights Theater in Minneapolis on April 1st, 2015 to show Cecil B Demils "The Ten Commandments". My primary goal is to use this event to make contact with you. For 7 years I've been working to ask you a question.

Would you consider the role of Moses in a modern day version of "The Ten Commandments"?

The name of my film is "Dreamers Empire". After seeing "The Pursuit of Happyness" I felt as though I needed to ask you to consider this film. Your portrayal of Chris Gardner was amazing. To prove my sincerity you can see my blog..  INeedToContactWillSmith.com.

In early 2015 I will also be starting a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to complete a storyboard. I will present the storyboard to you to prove the worth of this film idea.

Imagine what it would mean to someone like myself who is pursuting a dream, to have your support. I would like to stand in front of 200+ people on April 1st and say "Yes, Will Smith has said he would consider the role!"  I hope you will consider calling or emailing me. Thanks for your consideration.

I had a dream

Last night I had a dream that I found Will Smith and he was walking away so I had to get bold and tell him about my movie. I told him about his role as Moses and each of his families roles, during that part he was astounded like it was connecting with him. Then I asked him how tall he was and he said 6 feet 2 inches, I said I thought he was taller. But sure enough I checked it out today and that is how tall he is!

Pretty cool.

Hello new Twitter friends

How does one say it, this is NOT just some attempt to get you to buy something or get my followers up. This blog is my attempt to get in touch with Will Smith. No easy task, I've been writing letters, calling his agent and agency, well, there's probably a few other million people who'd like to get in touch with Will.

I've been working on this film concept, a modern day "Ten Commandments" for 18 years now and I've had Will in mind for the role of Moses for a few years. I also have parts for Jada, Jaden and Willow written into the script. I'm about to share about 8 chapters of the book I'm writing, but I'm going through a re-write. You will be able to read them here.

And with that, I ask you the question I've been asking anyone I can. Do you know of anyone who might have contact with the Smith family or his agency? I only need to communicate what I stated above, would you, Mr. Smith, consider looking at a treatment for a modern day "Ten Commandments"?

*He is apparently looking for a movie to work on as a family.

OK - 12/27 Why Will Smith?

In truth, I can't recall exactly how he came to mind. But when it did, I was so enamored with it that it felt inspired. Think about him doing a modern day Moses, does it sound right? I'm sure people will feel differently on it, but let me ask this, who do you see as Moses? My gut says its Will, all the way. My favorite Will Smith performance was in "Pursuit of Happyness." He captures so much in that film, especially desperation and humility. The desperation was there for most of the film, and the humility came when he landed the job. Wow, I'm surprised he didn't win an Academy Award for that role.

Another reason is his family values, and his family. I have had Will, Jada and Jaden in the film for quite a while. In truth I didn't know much about Willow until recently and once I saw her perform I knew exactly where she would fit. This family demonstrates what so few in Hollywood have ever done, a cohesive family supporting one another and working together.
